    Altitude changing bike performance

Also, another thing I’ve heard is if you take that cover off the side of your airbox where you can access your air filter and just leave it off. That way your air filter is still doing its job, but it is allowing more air in. Thus making it run less rich. Again, I’m no expert in this these are...

    Altitude changing bike performance

Last summer I logged about 500 miles on the stock jets. I experienced no issues or fouled plugs besides what I mentioned above (loss of power, stinky exhaust crackling a little bit when you let off throttle) I am by no means an expert in this field. Assuming you have the same bike as me, you...

    Altitude changing bike performance

Sounds like we need to have a CB 750 ride with all you guys living so close to Denver, haha. But that’s awesome man, I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum. 23 years old but really just appreciate the old shit. It’s amazing how resilient these bikes are, I think I’m gonna run my bike up to...

    Altitude changing bike performance

Ha, I was in the same boat. So as of today I have about about 120miles on her. No fouled plugs yet, she does run rich as hell. Exhaust stinks, backfires a little bit at high speed throttle let off, and of corse, less power. But its not to bad really, I have the jets for it, but thats a rainy...

    High altitude jetting

Makes sense, I have that tool that you use the sync up the carbs. The one where you hook up all the rubber hoses on the intake…god its been years since I tuned her up though. So far I’m at 50 miles riding at this high altitude and its really not as bad as I thought. Yes it’s a little slower...

    High altitude jetting

Hello all, Ill keep this simple, moved from 500 foot elevation to 7200 feet. Bike is running really rich now due to thinner air. I would like to fix that problem. Most riding will be done between 6000-7000 feet i should note. I have all stock setup with 105/70 jets. Bikes a 1979 Cb750K What...

    Steering lock

Yup yup I think you are right. Weird, I will have to call my grandpa and get the story on that haha. Well good thing I live in a good part of town, nothing a few chains and locks cant fix. Thanks for your help guys👍

    Steering lock

OK now that’s interesting. If you take a look at my bike where the pin that pushes out on the ignition switch is, there’s nothing there for it to lock into it’s just a big gap. I can post a better picture tonight but it almost looks like someone remove the locking block on the frame or it was...

    Steering lock

Yes please upload photos. Its never been an issue for me because I have stored it in a garage. Now I do not have that luxury and most of the summer it will be kept outside with a cover on…so I would like to get it fixed.

    Steering lock

I started to take it apart but when inspecting I cannot figure out where the lock even locks at to prevent the head from steering? Am I missing something?

    Steering lock

Yeah I have haha, thats how I keep track of my gas stops, about 120miles and start looking for a gas station. Yes that’s what I’m thinking I’m gonna have to do. From a visual standpoint it looks like it has a lot of oxidation and corrosion on the outside, probably just stuck.

    Altitude changing bike performance

Yeah please share when you do take it for a ride. I purchased some iridium spark plugs to throw in because I know they don’t foul as easy(worked on my old two stroke dirtbike ). Its my back up if I do run into a lot of fouling issues with the coppers.

    Altitude changing bike performance

Hello all, I recently brought my all stock 1979 CB 750k from Illinois witch is at 700 foot elevation to out Colorado, 7200feet where I reside now. Obviously the bike is going to run rich but how rich? What I’m wondering is am I going to be forced to rejet it? (we all know how much of a pain in...

    Steering lock

I tried, no luck. Ive tried moving/wiggling the bars while putting a little/alot of downward pressure on the key. Even tried no downward pressure and nothing. The locking device im sure has not been used since the late 80s early 90s. (Grandfather's bike I found in his barn and fixed up) So im...

    Steering lock

Hello all, I got a 1979 Honda CB 750k (Fancy-schmancy 10th anniversary edition) Anyway i’ve never been able to get the steering lock to work properly. Essentially I turn the wheel all the way to the left press down on the key and attempt to turn it to the lock position and it just does not...

    Where to buy sprockets

I didn’t think it was going to be this complicated. I figured I could just buy like a 35 or 32 tooth rear sprocket and throw it on. Sounds like what I’ll do is when my chain and sprockets wear out I’ll just step down to a 530 chain and adjust the sprockets from there. I guess my main...

    Where to buy sprockets

Gotcha, I actually ordered a 17 tooth sprocket from them and it didn’t fit but it’s probably meant for a 530 chain. My sprocket and chain are perfectly fine, I just didn’t like how it was running at high rpm because I do a lot of highway commute. I’m just worried because my bike is running...

    Where to buy sprockets

Like the title says I was wondering where you guys to get all of your sprockets at. I have a 1979 Honda CB 750k and I would like to change up the sprockets for highway use. All I can seem to find on the Internet is the stock, 15 tooth front and 38 and rear. Also what would you suggest to...

    Cb750 Running wierd

Gotcha, i may try the 9 plug, yes its 125 dry give or take a few pounds, and 140 with oil. The bike only has 8000 miles on it. But okay ill just ride the bike and check it occasionally. Thanks man you’ve been a big help in this process. Hopefully this form will help somebody else later...
