    engine/frame numbers

Engine and frame numbers don't match on Hondas. And that is correct, it's the number on the frame that should be on the title.

Knocking at low RPM that goes away

The chain between the crank and the transmission in these bikes has a hydraulic tensioner, activated off of oil pressure. So when the engine is cold or a low idle it tends to rattle. That may be it. If so, nothing to worry about.

    K carbs, F intake

I believe they are the same, at least they are on all the cb750s I've worked on. Got to Partzilla, find the intake boots and look at the Related Fitment section to see what other models they fit.

    1981 CB750 K and C

It should fit, the mounts are the same for K,C, and F models from 79-83

    Wheels super sport

I would just keep them for now. The other CB750s that have spoked wheels have a single disk brake upfront and a drum in back, so you have that to contend with. The disk brakes on your super sport are fare superior.

    What spoked wheels fit?

The most of the CB750K models from 79-82 had spoke wheels, they should be a direct swap.

    Which pistons

I have a set Cruzinimage pistons on my 75 cb750, they are actually pretty darn good. Sure you can get better from say cyclexchange or Ape, but unless your building a race bike you can't beat Cruzinimage

    Engine removal.

Granted I haven't done the laydown on my 81 cb750, I have on other bikes. I use a bunch of scrap wood to get then engine off the floor and level on it's side. As for the long bolt with the foot pegs, you don't have to mount the foot pegs right away. Often I just put a couple of the engine mount...

Just got a free CB750 and looking for ideas.

If it is an early sandcast model, you really don't want to chop it. Any other year sure, but the first run cb750s are highly collectable and can catch high dollar. Here's an ebay link were one sold for $21K...

    Looking for CLutch pressure plate

Be careful putting it together. The mistake that leads them breaking is trying to tighten one of the bolts all the way, do a little bit on each in a cross pattern till all of them are tightened down.

    Engine removal.

1981 Honda CB 750 K 4? A K4 is a 1974 CB750. Either way it's not too hard, I would suggest draining the oil to make it lighter. Also take the oil filter off as it sticks out a bit. I just that to my 81 cb750k, I used ratchet straps wrapped around the top frame tube. An other method I've...

    1981 Honda CB 750 K, F, S C,

The frames are essentially the same, but have different tabs as seats, rear fender, signals, and tanks are different and mount differently.

    1980 CB750C idle help?

The idle adjustment is under the carbs, I think right in the middle.

    Carb Air box,.,

It should be, I'm actually finishing up on a 81 CB 750 K restore. I bought someone's failed project lot of almost 3 bikes, I thought I could build 2 from the lot, but I only had 1 good engine and title. I've sold most of the spares on eBay. Been thinking about pitching the air box because it's...

    Carb Air box,.,

If you can't find one, I have an air box. But it's missing the door for changing the air cleaner. The rubbers are in OK to poor shape. I could send you what I have for the cost of postage.

Dropped a bolt on the engine

Wez, that sucks about your blown head gasket. When I built this engine the oil light came on. Turned out that little pin in the oil pump fell out during assembly, luckily I didn't let it run for long. I had built another CB750, and the oil light came on, turned out to be the sensor. I was...

    Weak Spark?

The black wire with the white stripe is the hot lead. The blue and yellow ones tell the coils when to spark. If you connect directly to the battery you won't be able to to turn the bike off.

Dropped a bolt on the engine

Wez: Yes for sure. That was a real pain. BTW, I got the rest of the bike together and she runs like a top.
