Super Sport revving to 5k on start up

figured it out. My mix screws were turned way out. Now, after a warm up ride, I pull the clutch in and the bike revs to 3k and seems to idle there. If I hold the front brake tight and let the clutch out just until the bike starts to want to move and hold it there for a few, it'll idle between...

1997 Honda CB750 F2 in need of help and guidance on how to disassemble

I'm with both those guys. I grew up in the garage with my dad building hot rods and drag cars as well as diagnosing and fixing problems. The easiest for me is to just get in there, keep everything organized, take pictures to compare to (especially if you're trying to pull a part and you discover...

Super Sport revving to 5k on start up

The previous owner said that the number 3 carb was leaking fuel out of the float bowl. Ran and idled fine. #3 Carb leaking out of float vent tube

Found the culprit. It wasn't just carb 3 that was leaking, carbs 4,3, and 1 where leaking as well. After about an hour trying different ways to get the leak to stop, I pulled out the float bowl drain screws and only 1 had an o-Rimg

ok hears goes another carb issue

Yes, a bench sync might do the trick with the high idol. If not, check for vacuum leaks. Even a small rip in your intake boot would do it. Last but not least, use a "." Every now and then. Makes it easier to read.

#3 Carb leaking out of float vent tube

I just picked up this 1980 CB750f Super Sport i turn the Petcock to on, fire it up, and it dumps fuel out of the vent tube. A decent size puddle after 10 seconds of running. Anyone have any ideas that could point me in the right direction would be very appreciated. I have the carbs off and ready...
