1982 CB900F New to me rehab with lots of questions.

Just came to me last night. Bought one new 40 years ago, long gone. When this popped up on CL I was on it like grease under fingernails. Mine Frau Hint: when slipping a new bike into the herd, have your wife pose on it for pictures. :sneaky: So there's a todo list, and I need help, so a few...

    Let's see your CB750

Hi guys, I'm baaaack (again) Was looking at CL during the packers game and this popped up. 2 hours later it was in my van. The only motorcycle I ever bought new was a 1982 CB900F. So this one might hang around a while. Guy's dad also bought one new but sold it, so he found this fine example in...

Two more "mebbys"? Only one line in your description mentioned the steering bearings. I don't see a mention of a recheck for looseness. Second, and this happened to me on an 83 Honda is REAR wheel bearings. Swore I had a FRONT end issue, but eventually the rear bearing got bad enough that the...

1980 CB750K - Forks "hopping" over only small bumps

My major suspicion is a bent fork tube and or tweaked triple tree (almost always the lower triple) Due to bend or twist there is static sideways pressure, keeping the forks from sliding easily, only overcome by a significant force (bump). Find a wall or block, attempt to compress the fork by...

My high dollar infrared temp checker is a windex bottle with water in it. spray the headers the problem cylinders will take longer to evaporate. Never assume a recently replaced part isn't the issue. Crack gas cap see if it makes a difference. is it charging?
