    Electrical Issues

Do the earlier CB`s have an " Accessory mode " ? I thought it was only off/on/park . You`re maybe connecting the wrong wires . It`s easy to do as some of the colours seem similar . I had a hell of a time getting blinkers to work untill I finally realised the grey wire was the white from the reg...

Just bought this from a barn find

The std airbox is the best . First pull and thoroughly clean the carbs , check spark/points and give it fuel . Like I said if it ran when parked , it should go . Have a look at brickhouse builds , bj does a lot of cb`s on it

Just bought this from a barn find

As the airbox is missing , it may have had critters in the motor , can it can be turned over ? You can use the kick starter to find out . That will determine how much you would have to do . If it does , it wouldnt take much if it ran when parked

    Petcock missing tube

I have done this before . Find out which one is the main and use a copper/brass/metal/fuel resistant plastic tube of any length you want . The longer the pipe the less main and more reserve you will have . If memory serves me right they are about 3 inches in length . Will see if I can find my...

1978 750k carbs Leftover piece, where does this go?

Can you post more pics from different angles ? That one isnt the best . Clutching at straws here , but are there bushings on the main shaft for the throttle linkages ? Maybe one of those if so

Hey loki , are you still after engine bars ? I was purusing 4 into 1 as you do , and saw these . Pricey though https://4into1.com/chrome-engine-guards-honda-cb750-sohc-1969-1978/

    K8 Carburetor rebuild

I believe they are like a dust shield , so not overly crucial . If you want to put more in or replace them , get some felt and cut new ones , as I dont think you can get them anymore . I am sure I have seen someone saying that they had found a replacement from something else , but cannot...

    My Ride

I resemble those remarks ! It makes me wince when I look at my original F2 from the 70`s . Such a pity that the bike shop wrecked the motor on me , which made me quick fix it and sell it . I used to think that it looked cool

    Charging Issues

Have never tried the bolt trick , will do it one day , as mine seems to work and was putting out good voltage when I tested the battery with the bike running . I noticed on my bike when it was restored that the connectors on the harness were in poor condition and would have been hindering...

    My Ride

Very nice original bike and with such low miles . I thought the F2 I got with 27 000 was low , but it was nothing like that . It amazes me how you guys in the states dont ride them much . I regularly did anywhere from 10 - 20 000 miles a year on my bikes . Australia is a big place and if you...

Fuel (Lead additive) and front caliper replacement

Automac , Sadly bike breakers are getting fewer and fewer . We used to have two i( back in the day ) n my little town of 78 000 people and you could basically get anything , for a price . Now we are cracking 240 000 and everything is gone . I think the main problem with ethanol is the ethanol ...

    Clutch safety wires

They are green and green/red stripe yes ? The green/red stripe goes to the little black diode near all of the battery and harness under the left sidecover . The green is an earth , so it can go to any other green/earth . Then just trace the green/red stripe and connect it . The sparking could be...

Fuel (Lead additive) and front caliper replacement

The factory recommends 91 octane low lead and say leaded fuel may be used if no choice . Most people used to get another fork leg , brake caliper and lines to run dual calipers . Of course you would have to upgrade the master aswell ...

    Carb Lines

Colt , just make sure you clean out all of the passageways after sonic cleaning . Sometimes sediment can stay in the carb and will block them . So use carb clean or compressed air and give them a good blast after to make sure they are clear

Paintwork and the engine have been done , now the build begins

Checked them and they are 405`s , so mine might be warped from heat and old age . Will investigate further when I pull the carbs again , hopefully that will be in a while . Not even going to try and ride at the moment as I cannot walk through my yard without sinking . My shed is towards the back...

Gap between top of fork covers and bottom of top bridge? After tapered bearing install.

Put in the same kit in my F2 ( all balls ) I noticed the top race sat proud of the stem , which meant I had to use the smallest shim to even do up the yoke with enough threads . But it all worked and my brackets are held in as supposed

    Gas tank rust holes

I dont know of anyone down there besides pud , and he would outsource it anyway I think . Maybe give him a call or contact a few smash repair guys and see what they use/do . Ultimately you may have to cut out the floor and renew it
