Is your engine # on your title where you live?

I believe Honda was one of the only manufacturer that did not have matching frame and motor numbers on the 750s, when they left the factory. Title numbers were taken off the frame.

    Bike's value

The guys above are pretty good with pricing. And I just don’t understand it. I mean, any dohc will eat a sohc for lunch. And yet you hear of the 69 sand casts going for 15k. Only thing i can think of is the guys that were 16 to say 25 in 1979 haven’t hit that golden age yet. That is retired...

Only running with choke fully closed

The small passageway on each carb, that goes from the air screw, after the jet, and dumps fuel in the throttle body, is very small. The passageways are clogged. No fuel is reaching the air being sucked past the little hole in each carb as it heads to the intake manifold. No matter how many...

    1983 CB750C DOHC Charging Issues

Check the white slip in plug that comes from the charging side of the bike. Under the left side cover. 4 pins. I’ve had 2 bikes get bad connections there. One was so bad it melted the molex plug. If bad, cut the plug out and just wire nut it.

Does anyone know who would work on my 1979 Honda 750 LTD. Having carb issues and need someone who knows how to fix these.

I think for about $650 bucks someone makes a kit. Replaces 4 carbs with 2. And they are not CV carbs. That’s what throws a lot of mechanics off. CV carbs are, how can one put it, unusual. Supco, Subco, I’m sure someone here knows who makes them.

    1980 cb750f petcock

I’d start by going down to the local hardware store. Try finding a metric bolt that screws in the hole. Unless it’s some kind of metric pipe thread, there are usually just fine and course threads. Hopefully if you find the bolt that fits at least you will know what size you’re working with...

1980 Honda CB750F Runs with choke then dies with choke off.

The ultrasonic is good. Just make sure you get fuel squirting into the throttle body before they go back on. See it. Don’t assume it.

1980 Honda CB750F Runs with choke then dies with choke off.

With my ‘79 SS, I had the same problem, it ended up being the passageways that went from the idle screws to the throttle bodies. The passageways are very small. After 3 times cleaning it was a guitar string that picked the hardened fuel that had turned to varnish most of the way thru on all 4...

    Secondary jets

I run 75/115 I believe. This with 8 - 1/2 inch holes drilled in the underside of the stock airbox, stock paper filter, and a short 4/1 muffler. Would be nice if you put up what works for you.

    Secondary jets

Try putting the filters back on, take black electric tape and blank off half of each pod, restrict some intake airflow.

Will a fuel pump help with my fuel flow issues?

No idea. The genesis of my 79 was it was first purchased and raced. There are still things, things that were done to make it breathe better, airbox wise, shift better and last longer on the bike. Nothing major, just a few things. The bars, the 4/1 pipe, an oil cooler, some jetting. Today it...

Will a fuel pump help with my fuel flow issues?

Ya probably so. Think about it. 1979. This is 2024. When that happened that bike was 40 years old. And yes, that tube was beat. Very soft, if I remember correctly it did not have any reinforcement threads or wire in it. Thinking about it, I would not be surprised if the screen on the...

Will a fuel pump help with my fuel flow issues?

I had a weird one on my ‘79 f. When cruising at 40mph or so, after maybe 20 minutes, the bike would start falling in on itself. I’d pull over, check to see if brakes were dragging, the petcock was on, if the small clear in-line filter was clogged or had bubbles. Everything was good...

    1982 cb 750f

On the coil thing swap the coils with each other. See if the problem follows the swap. Plugs, if the electrics are good, oily or sooty, or even black too much fuel at tips of plugs. Light tan or brown good. White the cylinder is starving for fuel. Some guys just ride them a bit, when they...

Just picked up a Honda chopper project

I like it. Kinda has the easy rider captain America look. Don’t see why you could not put the wiring harness on it, throw a battery in it, run a fuel line, put the 10/40 oil in the motor, strap the carbs in and see what happens. A few thoughts if I may. The pods thing, you will hear yes you...

On the bondo maybe use less hardener. Seems awful red in color to me. Besides that, stellar work so far. Carb wise, you going with pods?

    1980 cb 750 tuning

First thing I’d do is pull the fuel line where it connects to the carbs, stick the end in a small can, turn the petcock on and make sure you have a good, steady stream of petrol feeding the carbs.

    They look like this.

    81 Carbs

The air sucking into the cylinders creates a vacuum. The diaphragms are located under the domes on the top of the carburetors. Very delicate they are.

Mrtwowhl sounds like he’s on the right track. CV carbs. Vacuum lifts the slides, not throttle cable.

Ya that’s a K tank. A word of caution my friend. You might like running and slamming cars. But believe it, you fuck up on the street on a bike, it’s a whole different thing, Good chance your life will never be the same. At least keep your girlfriend off it till you have a year or so under...

Single disc up front. Drum in rear. That’s a K or a C But, spoke wheels who knows.
