Comstar badges for 1978 Honda CB750F2

I purchased one on e-bay from the states about a year ago , The only one I have ever seen for sale . Luckily I only needed the one , but it was a fraction smaller than my originals . I was only missing one side of one plate and when I compared them you could see the size difference , luckily it...

    Rear M-Cyl repair kit - 750F1

We have the same wemoto in oz and they dont sell original parts . I did my F2 brakes and masters with their kits . I got all stainless pistons and nipples , The only trouble I had was the front master seal swelled after 2 years of being rebuilt but not installed and bled . Had to get a new seal...

    CB750 SuperSport '78

It`s personal choice , I got one brand new in 1978 and it was black , so I got another black one . Yours was red , so maybe keep that colour , but it is all up to you . Just dont do what I did to my original bikes paint

    CB750 SuperSport '78

Grewth , F3`s had the lower tailight , marcin`s bike must be what you would call a very late F2

    1977 CB750F2 - Seat trims

Was going to suggest that type of stripping/capping . It may not look exact to a purist , but it will look good enough which is the aussie way . I had similar on my laverda`s jota fairing , it works well , and I was going to use it if my old trim wasnt reusable . But it was , phew , the seat had...

    1977 CB750F2 - Seat trims

Possibly , but I wouldnt want that bike again . The shop I bought it brand new from wrecked it and it seized a cam after they had to change the valve guides because they failed within 3 mths of purchase . Would love my 1977 1200 laverda that I had for 24 yrs , back . Sold it in 2003 for $5000...

    1977 CB750F2 - Seat trims

Grewth , yes they are meant to go right across , front to back along the bottom edge of the seat , Mine came cut off and uneven with a different seat cover that was crap . I had an original F2 in the 70`s , brand new . Wish I could have kept it

    Float Height issue 1978 k8

When I rebuilt my bike , I bought new floats and did not notice that they were slightly different . I couldnt get the right height and didnt notice untill I compared the old with the new . There was a step in the new float arm and not in the old . The seller when asked about this said " oh they...

    1977 CB750F2 - Seat trims

I tried to find some for a while when doing mine . No luck what so ever , so good luck with that . Like grewth said , try a wrecker/breaker and see if you can get some good old ones . David silver may have some or CMSNL . If you get some the colour strip is only a stick on pinstripe , so you can...

    Float Height issue 1978 k8

Tdubsy 14.5 is the correct height . If the pic shows 17.5 then that is way too much , the level should be below the float bowl join

Will an F2 rear brake caliper fit on an F1?

The axle is 18mm and the caliper bracket is 27-8mm wide , the brake stay arm has a 6mm bolt . I`m sorry but I cannot get an accurate centre to centre of the axle to brake piston and the disc offset and diametre

Will an F2 rear brake caliper fit on an F1?

If you could get a hold of the spacer/carrier for the caliper you could find out . The F1 is one piece , yeah ? and the F2 is two pieces . I could have a look at mine for you tomorrow and get some measurements . I think the axle should be the same diametre , but who knows . and if the discs and...

    Throttle linkages

The pic shows that it has a squared off design , unlike the earlier bullet style . Your part number is correct and when you search , it does show that type of spring . The pic shows that it is pulled really tight and none of the rings are touching , maybe it is meant to be tight as , like the...

    1977 cb750f1 misfire on cylinder 3. HELP

Given you have changed and cleaned most of it , have you checked the valve clearences ? Then I would try a leakdown test , you may have a bad valve . 137psi isnt bad , but it could be better , what were the other cylinders ?

    Running problems on cylinder 1

Having to use the choke to run is a sure sign of a clogged pilot circut . You are going to have to strip and clean your carbs . Were they left with fuel in them for that year ?

    Front master cylinder problems

The twin disc should have the larger 17mm piston , if it is a 14 that is for a single disc . You could need to bleed them , but if you have it may be time to fit a new seal kit

Fuel tap that actually fits and works ?

Wow , I went there right after I read your post . I always thought the internet was crap in australia , but now I know it is outdated aswell . I got an all balls kit for my DRZ a while ago , maybe they do one for the honda

    Another newbie question .

Yes , that is how they are set up for america . You have the 2 blinker running lights and headlight on fulltime . And as they are only a very low wattage , I could see how they would look very dim .

    Another newbie question .

I never got to see them . When I got my bike I stripped it almost right away to restore it and rewired it aussie style ( no running light in the blinker ) But they are a 3 watt bulb on a very old bike and the reflector could be a bit second hand

    CB750F1 Exhaust Split Collets

Grewth , it`s a pity I live down under , you could have mine . My pipes were very badly rusted at the head , so I put a delkevic 4 into 1 on my F2 and it doesnt use the collet style clamps . Much better setup and way less fiddley

    F1 handlebar switches

I bought an american F2 and wanted aussie switches/lights , so I bought a replica and cannibalised the guts out of my old one as it was much better quality . I think the only test will be time , the originals faded in a certain way . Who knows what these will do , but only a paint can away from new

    Carb rubber clamp bands

I recently had to do the same to my F2 . I couldnt justify the price and was recommended these clamps . All I can say is that they work , they look good and they are cheap ( 50 dollaroos as compared to nearly 400 )

They are 3 watts as compared to the blinkers 25 . If you are using incandescent lights , maybe just old . I cannot see my high beam light , even with new bulbs

    '73 CB750K Re-chrome existing parts or buy new Pros/Cons

Due to a biblical amount of rain in my neck of the woods , my bike has been sitting in a hot humid garage for the last 5 mths since my resto , nuts and bolts are starting to show signs of rust . Although I fully stripped and rebuilt it , I reused as much as I could . So I wire wheeled a lot of...

    Sticky Carb

It isnt too hard , but lotsa bits . Take off the tank , remove airbox and then throttle cables . Now you can take off the carbs in one piece . The screws are not phillips heads , they are JIS . If you dont use a JIS screwdriver , you stand a chance of stripping them . Lots of videos of people...
