    Synthetic oil

Has anyone tried using synthetic oil in their bike? I was recently advised not to as these bikes weren't designed for synthetic oil use with a wet clutch and all. But just wondering if anyone has tried using it and what the results were.

    Post carb rebuild headache

I have a Carb Rebuilding manual from MacGregor Carb Cleaning Services. It suggests 3 turns. Also, I could be wrong but I believe the amount of turns only affects idle air mixture. So the amount of turns out does not affect when the throttle is opened wider. Did you sync the carbs?

'79 CB750 Super Sport front brakes

I have an 81 750 SS. That was the first year they came out with dual piston calipers. I measured the distance of the brake line from the junction to the caliper and its about 19 inches. Also attached a pic. Ya that master cylinder is pretty screwy. Hope this helps.

New to the CB750 and have header question.

not sure if you figured everything out so I'll add my comments. First off, no 81 CB750 came stock with headers. My CB750F (see pic), which I still have came with 4 into 2. And it appears none of the name brands that were available back in the day 30/40 years ago like Supertrapp, Kerker, Vance & Hines, etc make...

    Head rebuild problem

Did you solve the problem? Only thing I was wondering after reading the above thread was; as you are rotating the crank to turn the engine, are you holding the timing chain up as the chain will move also? If not, the chain will bind in the bottom of the engine at or close to the crank. The chain...

Could use a little help, issue with exhaust cam sprocket punch alignment!

I'm currently working on this too and would like to clarify your advice as I think you are referring to only one punch mark, the front one, but there are two. One on the sprocket close to the front of the engine and one on the other side of the sprocket closer to the back of the engine. When I...
