Yes the left side cover is in the oil, look under the flywheel and you can see into the case. Gotta get oil on the starter gears...

    Case's with no numbers,

I would definitely be interested in seeing what you have and what you would want to part with.

    New Pistons

Yes you have to hone with new rings. What do the skirts of the pistons look like? I would measure the piston to cylinder clearance. Looks good means nothing if the clearance is to wide. The top of the piston can look perfect but the skirts are trash. same with piston pin bore and even ring...

    Case's with no numbers,

I had a RC distributor but had to sell it couple years back. Look neat but pain in the but at times on the street and hard to get parts for. Would like to find one again. Would like to see more pictures and put me on the list if you might want to get rid of some of the rc stuff

    Case's with no numbers,

I have a thing for RC parts. If you want to sell i may be interested. The Picture of the sprocket the case isnt bulged like the f2 case so Im about positive its a k case. maybe someone put a later output shaft in it? The sprocket looks like a weird aftermarket wider sprocket.. What is...

    Case's with no numbers,

yes the output shaft is out a little further on the F motor but you can do the same with an offset sprocket as long as you dont have to go too far. The clutch stuff is a little different but most parts can swap. The F have a different transmission ratio. The F need bigger carb rubbers. 99%...

    Case's with no numbers,

They do flow very well stock but you actually loose compression with bigger chambers unless you do a bore size that has compatible f2 pistons. Yes the head will bolt right onto k bottom end but you need to do some machine work to not leak oil. Definitely not a F2 or F3 motor. Cylinder head...

    Case's with no numbers,

The f cylinder head will have a 410 cast into the tip fin. They are also black from the factory. You will have to do some machine work to the head to use it on the k bottom end or you will have oil leaks. I have some pictures in my galleries on this site as I have done this before. You have...

    Case's with no numbers,

start with posting a couple of pictures of engine......side cases, side and back view of engine. Also look on the top fin on the back of the cylinder head between the inner intakes see if there is a number cast on the fin. Some pictures might help narrow down the year before doing some...

    New Pistons

Your best result will come from a machine shop but you can do it at home with a hone but if you dont get the crosshatch close to correct angles you can get oil usage. Maybe post some pictures of your pistons to see what we think about the condition.

    New Pistons

If the pistons measure fine and no wear you can just clean the carbon off with a wire wheel or soda blasting or similar means. But the stuff from 4into1 is okish for stock setup but I would prefer actual honda parts if it was mine doing a stock rebuild. You will need to at least have the...

    Wtf

The carbs are very hard to get clean. Ultrasonic cleaning is probably the best. There are so many passages that just the normal cleaning with carb clean doesnt always work the first, second or even third times. Try spraying carb clean or little starting fluid see if the miss goes away. The...

    Battery Issue

Have you disconnected the battery and see if the battery holds a charge? New means new, new doesnt mean good. The sohc doesnt charge much or very fast. It is normal for the 750 to be at a state of discharge at idle especially with the headlight on. A bad connection wont cause a draw. A bad...

    DIY exhaust?

Tuning will change with different exhaust so really no point in "tuning" it if it is just a cobble together exhaust that will be changed later. You will have to retune when you finish the exhaust build. There are normally some used exhaust on ebay, check there might find something

    Shifter sticking

That picture is not of a 1980, that is a sohc motor 1978 or earlier. RTV is the worst thing you can use on the sohc motor, rtv has a tendency to soften up and break off on any that has squished out inside the the motor. When this happens it plugs up the oil orifice in the cylinder head and it...

    1979 CB750k - Valve Clearance Clarification

I would consider those too loose. .007 is on the edge but .008 is def too loose. .005 is ideal. Loose will beat up the valve train, tight will burn the valves. It is odd to see them loose unless the cam lobes are worn or cam bearing clearance is loose. 99% of the time clearances get tight...

    Dual carbs on a 73 CB750

no need to reinvent the wheel, the research has already been done. Cycle x runs 34mm mikunis in their kit as well as the correct throttle cable.

    First engine rebuild

Keep in mind gap needs to go to .005" do not use honda spec clearance. Honda should still sell shims. hotcams used to sell shim kits dont know if they still do.

    First engine rebuild

You still 100% need to check and adjust the valves. If you dont they will get tight and you will burn the valves, guaranteed.
  27. dirtdigger

    First engine rebuild

I mean it looks like the gasket is leaking a little bit but dont know if I would worry to much unless it is leaking bad. Head gaskets on hondas seem to tend to seep a little bit because no one re torques the head studs. I would stop and wait to see how the valve clearances turn out before...

    First engine rebuild

The engine should not run fine with those compression numbers, it really shouldnt run at all on #2 with that low of compression. 95 is really to low to fire so I would doubt they are that low if it runs fine. I would suspect your compression numbers are off from either bad gauge or improper...
