Yes, the metering orifice is recessed into the bore. As long as you don't damage the metering orifice, you can reuse the jet.

    Testing a generator rotor

here is a fantastic video showing a BRAND NEW Honda rotor being tested. standard procedure for proper multimeter use is that you want to test the meter first to confirm that it works, then test your work piece, then test the meter again. this is because you don't know if the meter stops...

Looking for somebody To Rebuild My Carbs

let me know how everything goes, I look forward to hearing it run. The idle speed might be a little high, so you might have to adjust it once you start it up.

    Purple Power On Keihns

I also learned this the hard way at one point, but thankfully it was on a snowblower carburetor. always read your cleaners because it will say what they are safe to use on or not safe to use on. straight acetone will dissolve solidified and varnished fuel which is something that a LOT of...

    Cam lobes

the book says to make sure cylinder number 1 OR cylinder 4 intake and exhaust camshaft lobes face the sparkplug. you will never get both cylinders to have the camshaft lobes face the spark plug at the same time, otherwise both cylinders would be firing at the same time. if you do either, this...

    Use a Guitar string

you want to be careful when using a steel wire to clean orifices' in this manner. you risk enlarging holes which can affect the way the bike runs afterwards.

    Purple Power On Keihns

I take it that you discovered this the hard way? there are a number of cleaners that will say on them "not safe for use on aluminum" or something to that effect. CLR is another one you don't want to use. simple green is ok under short term exposure, but personally I just use dawn dish soap for...

Trying to do adjustment to my clutch and im lost. I gave everything slack and then tightened it up how much slack and how tight should it feel

100% agree with Motorgrady here. when they sit, the oil seeps out of the friction disks and they pretty much glue themselves together. that "mechanic" should have known better than to just kick the f out of it. a skilled mechanic would have established well before then that there was something...

Trying to do adjustment to my clutch and im lost. I gave everything slack and then tightened it up how much slack and how tight should it feel

a few questions. is your clutch cable routed properly? sometimes if they are not, it can cause binding or sticking. did the bike sit for a long period of time without running? sometimes clutch plates will stick causing drag like what you are feeling. do you have play at your clutch lever? you...

    Compatible forks

Ah, gotcha. go on www.ronayers.com and use their part diagrams to check out what you need. some of the parts can still be purchased brand new through honda dealers (such as ron ayers). you can also sometimes search the part numbers and it will tell you if it was used on other years or other...

    Oil behind ignition cover??

If you are referring to this as the ignition system, then yes. behind all of those components there is an oil return passage (shown in second image) to allow oil back to the oil pan. here is a photo of what is behind all of those components and you will be able to see the hole where oil can...

    Compatible forks

if you are only looking for new forks because of the condition of the chrome, there are a few companies out there that will repair and re-chrome your existing fork tubes, and there are a few other companies that sell aftermarket replacements.

    Oil behind ignition cover??

there is a seal on the throttle-side of the crankcase to keep oil from reaching the generator rotor and stator, however there is NOT a seal on the clutch-side. I would expect to see oil in with the starter clutch, pick-up coil and rotor.

    Crank bearing code concern

according to the service manual, all bearing inserts are select fit and are identified by color code. there is a number stamped into the counter weights of the crank as well as a letter code on the engine case to associate which bearing code you need. my 1999 CBR600 is the same way. bearing...

    Pressed in pilot jet removal

If all were clogged, I would suspect your bike didn't idle at all. If it still ran, its possible they weren't completely clogged. But yes, you would 100% see a significant difference if that were the case. This jet is metering how much fuel makes it to your mixture screw.
