Bought a 1980 CB750F in April. Would hardly run/idle. New spark plugs, coils, CDI, rotor, stator, reg/rec., valve clearances adjusted to .005, cam chain tensioner adjusted as well. For the past few weeks it'd been running smooth and strong. This past week something was amiss- intermittent...

So 1980 CB750F Idle with choke engaged sits kinda high at around 3000rpm. Disengage the choke and the bike just cuts out.... so do I lower the fast idle speed or do I simply increase the idle? And in increasing the idle, do I adjust the pilot screws or just the black knob beneath the carbs? Thanks

Is it ok to do a valve clearance adjustment without referencing TDC? I just point the lobes at an angle up and away...... is that ok?

1980 CB750F Rear Brake Caliper installment I position the shoes into their designated slotted spaces upon the caliper bracket. I go to slide the caliper on to the bracket but there's not enough clearance between the fully compressed piston and the other end of the caliper assembly.

So I pulled the carbs, removed the bowls and I noticed that one of the floats has a lot more 'bounce' than the others. Should they all have that kind of action?

Ultimately, I think I'd like to replace/upgrade the stock front brake calipers on my 1980 CB750F (one of the mounting bolts is rounded off real bad- think I'm gonna cut off the head and then replace the caliper). What are my options?

I haven't got a manual and I'm banging my head against the wall. What are the steps here?
