I have the same problem and I have the airbox fitted. A friend recently suggested sticking advancer unit, sounds plausible but I haven't had time to try that yet

I was also thinking it could be a needle problem, where did you put the shim? I am open to all suggestions And another question, how do I remove these needles, do I have to prize the black piece out?

Ok sorry, this may only be a partial fix, works sometimes but still has a tendency to high idle. I will try spraying inside the caps and pistons with a silicone/easy glide spray and see if that helps

Ok so seeing nobody has come up with a fix on these carbs and everybody is beating around the bush with various reasons for this problem. Easy fix is to clean the diaphragm caps and the pistons with WD40 so the slides can move freely, simple as that
