It kind of looks like where the clip for the wiring harness should be (item 3 in the attched), however, it also looks like someone has drilled the hole right through the yoke as the orinal threaded hole is blind.

Looks really good. I too have just finished building a 1977 F2 and I'm happy with it except for the obligutary clutch rattle. I'll run it for a couple of hundred miles and then rebalance the carbs, see if that helps. It even has the original exhaust in really good condition.

Hello Jabixx, I'll try to be a bit more helpful. I ditched the original two units in favour of a combined unit from David Silver Spares. The paper instructions delivered with the Regulator/Rectifier unit were not too clear but in the end, fitting was easy and works absolutely fine.

Hello mate, reading this tells me that you don't really know what you are doing. So I would suggest you give the work to someone local who does. Brakes on the early CB750s were bad anyway and you could make them worse. I don't want you having an off. If you have sorted this, how have you got on?

He synched them off the bike? How?

Strange one. Have you checked that all the wires in the headlight are connected OK? Remembering that black is switched positive and green is earth? And unless you have an iondicator buzzer, don't connect the two brown/blue wires. Good luck

Pull everything in the headlight and start again, but don't connect the two brown/blue wires together. They are for a flasher buzzer. Leave them disconnected if you don't have a buzzer. Also, green is earth and black is switched positive. Don't know if this helps.

All sorted now, resulting in a lot less harness in the headlight which is good. Thank you

It's OK, I got a reply from David Silver along with a better copy of the instructions. It is as I thought, the black and white wires in the harness connect to both black terminals on the regulator. The green can just be left on the old regulator as it doesn't do anything now. Simples!

Thanks for this, I realised that last night ha ha. All I need to do now is sort out what colour wires go to what pins on the relay. X, L and P. I much prefer nuts and bolts but I'm getting there.

I did exactly that, noticed that the 'white' wire was actually grey!!! Could you tell me what colour wires go to what pin on the relay please? The three pins being X, L and P. Thank you again.
