I need a picture of the orientation of the wiring under the left side cover. Not a wiring diagram.82 cb750.

Just happened to have covers off of my '81 CB750C. Not the clearest of pics, but hope they help; CDI unit plugs are the top ones, don't matter witch way they are, both units are same.

    79 750f cam chain tensioner

Hi dagwood, That's engine out job. Head needs to come off, and there's no room to remove it while engine is in the frame. https://www.cb750c.com/publicdocs/CB750_Manual/Honda1979thru83CB750ServiceManualChapter07CylinderPiston.pdf

Low compression on a total rebuild top end

If crank to cam (primary cam chain) has streched so much, that it affects timing and gives you lower compression, you should hear cam chain rattling when engine idles. I presume cam chain tensioner is at max? Cam chain would also lift a bit from sprocket when you try to lift it by hand if chain...

Low compression on a total rebuild top end

My two cents: I'd run that engine at least couple of hours or 200-300 km's more (what's that on miles?) before doing any compression tests on it, if it's been rebuilt. And use break-in oil or some Zinc additive on engine oil. Just to allow top-end and pistons & rings to wear and settle a bit. If...

    Ignition Timing 1980 Honda CB750F

Hi Nwalker300, There's two ways of checkin ignition timing, the dynamic way, and static way. Static way gets you close to correct timing, and you 'should' be able to start when set like this, if everything else is ok (valve clearance set, carbs at least bench synced and good spark & fresh fuel)...

    Primary chain hydraulic regulator

Hi elcochinato, primary shaft tensioner is held in place by three bolts from the primary shaft/chain side on crank case, and replacement means engine out & case split. See https://www.cb750c.com/publicdocs/CB750_Manual/Honda1979thru83CB750ServiceManualChapter12CrankshaftPrimaryShaft.pdf Also...

This helped me, when I my bike had similar problems, especially the pilot jet cleaning part. You probably have pressed in pilots as well, since you have early MY, so check out...

    Removing engine paint

As mrtwowheel said. I had to use paint stripper in mine, as the paint was so thick in places, that it would never had been good looking, if I'd just painted over. I had to apply several coats of that stuff to get all the old paint out, rinsing with pressure washer in between coats. Be careful if...

Hi, older thread, but I thought that this might help those with similar plans: It's a long video, but the guy explains how to connect mo.unit blue using original controls.
