    Let's see your CB750

Slmjim & Z1BEBE: VERY cool that you ride together. DragonRider: I'm a big fan of lighting. The dragon head is Fn' killer. KILLER I say. Quite like the light on the sissybar too. For low-flying aircraft no doubt. Very nice. Is one headlight the high beam, or do they both work together. Would...

'78 750K slow throttle return and it's not the cable

I also had throttle return troubles until I gave some slack to the return cable. My cables were brand new and well lubed, but it was the slack that helped. Accelerator Pump If you don't find the cause, it might be worth your time to examine the condition of your carburetor's accelerator pump...

For Sale - SOLD SOLD SOLD exhaust pipes for CB750 $500

I don't want to interupt Dan's sales page, so I wrote my comments about "Loudness" variations on a new thread. https://www.cb750.com/threads/baffled-about-muffler-sounds.8822/

    Baffled About Muffler Sounds?

I was just reading a discussion here about which mufflers/silencers were quieter or louder, 4-into-1 or 4-into-2, etc. The number of mufflers attached to your headers doesn't dictate whether they are loud or not; it's the baffles inside that matter. - Even stock CB750K 4-into-4 exhaust systems...

    Newbie-newb question-good story ('75 CB750)

Throttle cables on a K5 go left around the front of the neck of the frame (between the frame and the headlight), then past the ignition coils, through a triangle in the frame. I've picked 3 images from the Service Manual that show the cables, and drawn a red arrow pointing to the cable.

    clutch plate

I see. Seems like MadMtnMotors answered the question already. I was only chiming in because your post about the date made it seem like you were uncertain of the situation. Good luck. (The 2nd link is a dead Ebay link btw, they don't remain visible to the public once a sale is over)

    clutch plate

I thought you were talking about a 77 CB750F, but that engine number isn't correct for a 77' Supersport. http://www.hondachopper.com/engine/engine_timeline/timeline.html I don't want to alarm you, but if indeed you have a K3 engine in a 77 F2 frame, you'll have more things to deal with other...

What is a good way to determine if a points condenser is good / bad ?

Testing points and condensers is covered in your manual. If you don't have a manual, here is a link you should look at: http://manuals.sohc4.net/cb750k/ For what it's worth, points and condensers should last MANY miles. Daily use, for a few years. Crappy after-market parts will wear out fast...

    Hesitation when giving Gas

Derk, these old geezers need babysitting. :) Here's my regimen for starting out. I start the bike cold with a little choke and tend the throttle until I get my throttle stop screw where it needs to be to hold it at about 2 grand. (Easier on K4, because the throttle lock screw is on the left) I...

    Is it a 1969 or 1970 engine

    Is it a 1969 or 1970 engine

According to this: http://www.hondachopper.com/engine/engine_timeline/timeline.html the best answer most of us can give is "Yes". 69-70 were made until September of 70'. But if you're wondering if it's a sandcast 69' only the first 7k or so were sandcast. Still... you have the 23,573rd CB750K...

    Hesitation when giving Gas

Derk, are you talking about the flake sunrise orange K4 in your avatar with stock HM 4-into-4 pipes and carburetors? If so, then when the bike is warm, then it should idle closer to 1000rpm. 1200rpm max. 2000rpm is high for this bike.

Nice red line. I can't say I've ever owned a CB750 with an actual red, red-line.

A couple of Tech questions about '78K model

The dark blue face is the stock color from K7/K8. Could be that the green kph showed up mid-production, or some other reason.

A couple of Tech questions about '78K model

Lots of new on my K7 too... because it was a piece of crap! HAHAHA! As you might notice from my avatar, most of what used to be a K7 is no longer on the bike. ...including my engine. I think there are...13? K7 parts left (snicker) One reason K8/K7 don't have that fender stay in the very front...

Changes made to the CB750K in 77-78

77/78 Exhaust pipes mount differently on BOTH ends. - Exhaust manifold has threaded bolts that stay on the engine. - Exhaust clamps are mounted with nuts instead of Philips-head bolts, and go on at the same time as the pipes (~K6 the clamp went on last) - No "Frange joint" on 77-78. (The part...

Changes made to the CB750K in 77-78

77/78 Headlight brackets changed quite a bit. - Front turn signals now have designated posts welded low on headlight brackets. (K0-K1 turn signals held the headlight on. K2-K4 turn signals attached to the bracket mid-height. K5-K6 turn signals larger but also attached at mid-height.) - Fork...

    77/78 Both front and rear sprockets, and the drive chain changed. K7 Front Sprocket 15T x 630. Rear Sprocket 41T x 630. Chain 630 x 88 (~ K6: Front Sprocket, 18T x 530. Rear Sprocket, 48T x 530. Chain 530 x 100.) - K7/K8 front sprocket connects with a single bolt in the center. K1-K6...

Changes made to the CB750K in 77-78

"All" CB750K and F engines from 69-78 will mount up into a frame from any of those years, but there are caveats. 77/78 frame differs from older models in a few spots. - Engine mounting brackets added to the left side, so you can remove/install the engine from either side easier. - Oil tank...

Changes made to the CB750K in 77-78

This is especially for guys and gals who have a 1977 or 78 CB750K, who need to buy a part, and wonder if this CB750 doo-dad is going to fit on YOUR bike. This site has a 10k word limit, so I have to break it up in sections. As you know, the CB750 started in 1969 (68' if you count the 4...

A couple of Tech questions about '78K model

All 3 of my K7 and my K8 had mph in white, and kph in green below it, on dark blue faces like the photo above. My K6 has green faces, no kph. Do you have a photo of the gauges from your bike Hisvett? I don't know if this is exactly related, or coincedence, but in 1975 the US briefly flirted...

    oil vent hoses

"I have read that you can simply plug the oil tank overflow" That advice was mistaken. If it was meant to be plugged up, the engineers at Honda would have designed it differently. There's no danger of oil leaking out onto the tire if the hose is connected to the port where it is meant to be...

SOLVED: Sprocket alignment for K6 engine & K7 frame.

Just to wrap this up, I had two options to chose from in properly aligning my front and rear sprockets. 1.) Buy a $100 10mm offset front sprocket, and potentially have to cut into my sprocket cover to create clearance for the drive chain. The chain would certainly drag on that part without...

How to start and how to learn about cb750

It's really too bad you had to see it after it died. Seattle was worthy of bragging about in the 90's. It was easy to make friends because people were happy. Then Microsloth got bigger, and Nintendo of America, Adobe, Amazon, all grew and the city grew and that's pretty much it. And now it's...

Trying to source good OEM points and condensers.

There's also "Yamiya" which seems to be popular among Japanese shoppers. I never shopped with them myself, but from my experience, quality is the most important to Japanese folks. They don't complain much, but if a place sucks, they don't go back. People say that if you buy garbage, you'll be...

Rear Brake Mechanism Rubbing On Frame

This isn't a snarky "Google it" type response... however, when it's something you think is bent or visually wrong on the outside of the bike, doing a Google image search for your bike year/model can sometimes provide something to compare with. When you do your search, filter for "large" size...

Trying to source good OEM points and condensers.

First of all, your bike looks rad Stratmanx. I've been suffering the after-market blues myself. And I've been fighting modern advances like electronic ignition and LED lights, because I figure if I wanted modern advances, I'd buy a newer bike. Having said that, my bike isn't bone-stock anyway. I...
