No power when turning ignition switch to ON position - 1977 CB750 F2

Ignition switch out of the bike Trying to get that connector out by itself is an exercise in frustration and futility, trying with any number of different angled tools it’s damn near impossible The headlight assembly has two bolts under the side reflectors, unscrew them and the entire assembly...

No power when turning ignition switch to ON position - 1977 CB750 F2

I figured out what was up. the main plug connector has got an issue, in that if you put upward pressure on it from the bottom youve got juice. I had replaced all the connectors on the loom side of the connector as there was broken wire from that acute bend where it goes into the plug. I'll get...

Ignition switch connector wiring opinions for worn wires going in to the connector

1977 CB750F2 Had an issue with the bike cutting out and found that the wiring going into the ignition switch connector was stressed. If you moved it, power would cut out. I've gotten a new connector and terminals and plan on cutting the wiring back about an inch and install the new terminals...

What is a good way to determine if a points condenser is good / bad ?

In addition to that, I would think that a bad or weak one could potentially shorten the life of the points. I'm going to put in a new set of points I bought from David Silver Spares, and at $21 apiece, I don't want to be wear these out early. What say you ?

    Electronic ignition recommendation ?

With the issues with crappy points / condensers I should probably just go ahead and convert over to electronic ignition. Are there any recommendations for a reliable manufacturer / model for a reliable, set and forget system that can deal with the heat generated from the engine in that area ...

Trying to source good OEM points and condensers.

Looks like these are stamped JAPAN, but that doesn't mean they aren't knockoffs. It probably wouldn't hurt to have this set for a spare for the ride home, just in case.

Trying to source good OEM points and condensers.

I had thought about electronic ignition, but I've read numerous articles that stated that with the heat build up, this causes issues with the elctronics and that your better off with points. Just so sad we have an influx of junk parts from you know where.. I appreciate the heads up on the David...

Adding a compass to the bike ?

I've got a 1977 CB750F2 and would like to add a compass to it. I like trying unknown country roads, and knowing my direction makes it a lot easier to navigate. I've seen all the smaller compasses that you can find online or at the automobile stores and thought I might be able just to use a...

Will E15 ethanol gas damage the older bikes ?

Looks like the current administration is authorizing the change to E15 / 15% ethanol blend gas. I've heard rumor that this is damaging to older engines, as well as lawnmowers, weed eaters, older cars that don't run on Flex-Fuel. Trying to determine if I should just garage my bike (1977...

Removal of front wheel while on the center stand ?

1977 CB750 F2 . The issue is, with the bike on the center stand, it leans forward balancing on the center stand and front wheel. I don't have a bike jack that will support the weight of this bike and also see where the 4 into one pipe is a bit lower than the frame tubes, so crushing that by...

New Bike - 1977 750-Four Super Sport F2 - Headlight and blinker indicators and high beam / low beam lights not displaying on instrument panel

I have not as of yet, as looking at the wiring diagram it appears that the high beam and turn signal indicators maybe on a different circuit than the oil pressure / neutral light, so I'm thinking thats a clue that's important.

I've recently inherited my brothers 1977 750-Four Super Sport F2. Excellent condition. A few issues though, originally I found the blinkers wouldn't work, just would stay on when selected. That was a simple fix, replaced the blinker relay with a #552 from O'Riley Auto Parts and that's...
