    Thankyou - I am just working out all the bits to bring it back to original. I was just given some 1970's photos of the actual bike from its early days so now I know the colour as well. Early 70's clothing fashions were interesting too!

    yes I wondered about doing a bit of modification with the grinder to some long nosed circlip pliers. I ended up having success with a pick tool though Thanks for your suggestion

    Hi Hoping someone can help. Should a 1972 CB750 have a chrome strip along the bottom of the tank? Also the frame number suggests a 1972 build, but the engine number suggests 1973. As far as I can tell from the current owner ( one owner bike) it has the original engine. Best wishes Philip
