What octane of gas are you using?

I've used 87 octane, corn alcohol, "Regular" in my 84k mi. '91 since I got it (@19k mi). In CT, it sits garaged for 4-5 months each year). Winter prep is only: 1. Tires up off unheated garage floor. 2. Shut the pet, fire it up, and run the carb bowls dry. 3. Treat the gas in the...

'91 - '03 750 Nighthawk longevity & high mortality parts? Other thoughts. Long post.

I'd absolutely keep at least one of the 750 'Hawks. Mine's a '91 ("Tokyo Rose" - all the '91s were red). I'm two years older than you and I TOUR. Got her used in 2012 with just 19k miles on the clock. Just hit 84k, still running like a Rolex and, like one of yours, the only non-consumables...

    Popping 15amp fuses

Your blue (K5?) is beautiful, b905. From the pic and your mileage, I think we do about the same type of riding: mostly long distance highway. My Nighthawk evolved quickly into a long-distance tourer. Bought it used (Craigslist) and got a great one. Bought in 2011. Verified sitting in a shed...

    Popping 15amp fuses

I feel better now, barney. Thanks. Just hit 84k mi. on my '91 CB750 Nighthawk ("Tokyo Rose"). Still runnin' like Lady Rolex. Was beginning to wonder if timing and/or alternator chains were nearing the end of expected lifespans. Nice to hear that you're still breakin' in a CB750 @ 96k.

    ran out of gas

Same here, kramdua. Back in '73 I had a used '61 VW beetle w/the kick-lever "reserve" on the floor and no gas gage. Did the same thing. Driving west across a 104 degree Arizona desert towards Winslow, at my last gas stop I got to talking w/someone and forgot to reset the kick-lever back up to...

91 Nighthawk 750 turn signal recommendations

I noticed an "Ask a Question" section on the Dennis Kirk website you posted. Why not email them or call them? I've dealt w/them myself. Bet they can tell you whatever you need to know about those two and three-wire lights.

1991 750 Nighthawk No Center Stand

I'm in CT. About 5 years ago, after many hours of online searching, I had success in locating a correct, red, right side-cover for my '91 NHawk to replace one that was swiped. Perhaps they also have some center stands: STEVE'S CYCLE, Tifton, GA (I save all my receipts). Phone: (229) 386-8666...

CB750 Supply October giveaway starts now! Whatcha waiting for? Someone always wins! Why not you? Enter to be a winner!!!

1991 CB750 Nighthawk here, set up for touring with windshield-fairing and backrest-trunk on the pillion. 84k miles so far. Will still get the clock up over 115. Burns just a speck of oil if really pushed. Head's never been off, just the valve cover to replace a gasket that disintegrated from...
