Do I need a new clutch?

I've installed the new set and the bike is running great. I also checked the thickness of the old friction plates and they were all within spec at around 3.48mm in average. The oil was definitely the cause of the issue. Thanks for all the help.

Do I need a new clutch?

Hmm, it seems like that could be the issue. I always thought that was just the brand name too. I know it is a good oil, but maybe not for these bikes. I have put around 600 miles since I got the bike running after sitting for the last 20 years. 600 miles doesn't sounds like enough mileage to me...

Do I need a new clutch?

A few weeks ago I noticed the tachometer needle jumping when going over 5k RPMs. I took my bike for a quick ride today and noticed the tach doing the same thing but around 3k RPMs, also it feels as if the bike is working harder to keep speed and sometime it would just rev up as if I was...

New guy with new old bike

Plain water works just fine for chrome, just wet the steel wool and go to town. Flitz metal pre-clean and Flitz metal polish paste have worked well for me to remove aluminum oxidation.

New guy with new old bike

I also got a 1972 back in March. It was not running. The bike had been sitting for over 10 years but the engine was turning. All I did to get it back on the road was: - Replaced plug caps (old ones had no resistance). - Changed spark plugs. - Cleaned carbs. - New oil, oil/air filters. - New...

    1972 tachometer doesn't go above 4000 RPM

Hi all. I went for a ride yesterday and noticed that my tachomenter needle doesn't go beyond 4000rpm. It works fine below that. The issue seems to start between 3k and 4k RPMs, the needles starts shaking a little bit within that range and can't pass the 4 thousand no matter what. The cable was...

    IRC GS-11 tires balancing marks

Hi all, I bought a set of IRC GS-11 tires for my bike and I can't find any information about the right way to install them. The tires have two marks, white and yellow. Any idea which of the 2 is the balancing mark? Should the valve be aligned with the mark or opposite to the mark? Thanks!

    Carb Lines

There is a slot located close to the rear wheel swingarm pivot point. the four hoses are routed through that opening with the battery hose overflow. That way they don't just hang loose.

    Carburator/fuel issues

Hello everybody. I have a couple of issues with my 1972 CB750. 1- I only see exhaust gases coming out the pipes from cylinders 3&4. The pipes from cylinders 1&2 get hot (not as hot as 3&4) but I don't see any gases coming from the exhaust. 2- It takes a few seconds for the bike to go back to...

Can somebody help me figure out the model year of my bike?

Hello. I've recently bought what I thought is a 1972 CB750 in candy gold. I've read that candy gold was 1971 color not 72. The bike was made on 11/71 and the bin starts with CB75020059... The engine number CB750E-20182... Is this bike a 71 or 72 model? Is this color candy gold or orange...
