I've installed the new set and the bike is running great. I also checked the thickness of the old friction plates and they were all within spec at around 3.48mm in average. The oil was definitely the cause of the issue. Thanks for all the help.

Hmm, it seems like that could be the issue. I always thought that was just the brand name too. I know it is a good oil, but maybe not for these bikes. I have put around 600 miles since I got the bike running after sitting for the last 20 years. 600 miles doesn't sounds like enough mileage to me...

Hi all, I bought a set of IRC GS-11 tires for my bike and I can't find any information about the right way to install them. The tires have two marks, white and yellow. Any idea which of the 2 is the balancing mark? Should the valve be aligned with the mark or opposite to the mark? Thanks!

Check the throrrle valve slides and make sure they are all closing properly at idle. I had similar issue and 2 out of the four where not closing.

There is a slot located close to the rear wheel swingarm pivot point. the four hoses are routed through that opening with the battery hose overflow. That way they don't just hang loose.
