How long does the white smoke last? Usually white smoke is a water or coolant (but these bikes don't have coolanr) burning off. Maybe water or condensation sitting in exhaust 4?

Before inserting them, measure with a digital caliper. I ordered some and a few were a bit off.

The manual is incorrect. Honda admitted those clearances were too tight. .005" is the correct spec.

You could put some Vaseline on the threads then put JB Weld on it and quickly shape it. I would remove the screw right after shaping to clean off the threads. Would also then clean off the interior threads with carb or brake cleaner.

What circuit is that fuse protecting?

Is the filament fuel resistant?

Sounds like air leak causing lean condition.

I sold the bike, so i don't know it's current state. I did revert to 10-40 valvoline and it seemed to decrease the noise, but never went away. There is a mod I was shown on this forum about the taking rivets out of the clutch basket (I think that's where they were) and replacing them.

That could absolutely be a potential

The original gap spec was too tight and burned valves.

Dime city cycles has stuff, cb750supply, too.

The only location I can think of are the boots on both sides of the carb. Is it possible the clutch is slipping?

When was the last time you did a valve job on your bike? I think, but could be wrong, right around 5k is where the power band starts. And those valves need to be kept up. Could also be a lean condition like an air leak? Checked for that?

I did. And it was formulated for wet clutch application. No downside that I noticed. Plus the oil pump will not have to work so hard.

What numbers are on the plugs?

No apologies necessary. Lots of people are learning here.

Spark plugs. If they are too cold of a plug (ie, the incorrect ones) they may not be hot enough to burn the fuel in the combustion chamber. Just a thought that it may not be a fuel delivery issue.

Do you have the right plugs? Also, I can't remember what is stock.

Depends on how well the float was made to OEM spec. After you put the floats in, fill the carbs with fuel while they on a bench. See if the floats stop the fuel when the bowls are full. Then take a clear hose that can be tightly secured to the drain line at the bottom of the carb, and bend out...

Try adjusting your clutch cable to increase the throw.

I've only ever used carb cleaner for that test, not brake cleaner. Are you using stock carb jets with stock airbox?

You get the lurch and the bike dies. Then you can restart the bike while in first?

Is that combustible?
