I havent previously owned a bike and i want to make a project for my first bike with a 1993 cb750. I have to build it from scratch or else it will cost me double. Im a mechanical engineer student and I want to learn to work on bikes. My knowledge is very limited apart from the basic, but I will have some help. What I need from you is to write what i need to buy, from the beginning, like a list (frame,motor,forks,carb,etc..). If you help me I will remember you forever. This project means the world to me.

In my experience, I think you may have it backward; it's generally cheaper to buy a whole - or nearly so - bike that needs a lot repairs rather than piece one together from scratch. You'll also have the benefit of seeing (& photographing) the original design & assembly by taking it all apart. Then you can replace, refurbish, rebuild - even modify or customize - as you build it back.

The "best bang for buck" may be a SOHC CB750 as parts availability (used & reproduction) is good and the finished product may be in popular demand

i live in greece so i have to import the bike because there arent many here. That will cost a ton thats why i thought about building it from scratch. I dont know where to start.

The Nighthawks can be had for around $2,000 in working order all day long. Not sure how to "build one from scratch" for

do you have any idea where can i find damaged cb750 by any chance

Ahhh... I missed that your location was overseas. I forget how fortunate we are sometimes here "over the pond". I would concur with jpdevol that a bike that is mostly complete but non functional would be the best place to start. Of course, some of the more expensive vehicles I've had were very cheap initially...

I see. I need to contact a dealer but Im not sure if they will take in consideration my preference to be a damaged bike. So if that doesnt work i need to go to a cb 750 facebook group to find someone who sells what i want and have complete trust on him that he is not a scammer. Shit. This is gonna be a bumpy ride
