Hey guys,

My first bike ever and it's a 93 cb750 nighthawk with probably 40k miles. It has a leak coming from #1/#2 headers and will sprinkle out the exhaust and underbody (I am assuming because of the crappy welds from the previous owner). The shop said I could keep running with the leak but I'd just have to keep filling up with oil.

I have no problem working on the bike and tinkering on it but how hard is this "valve job" and has anybody had the same issue?

How long has the bike been sitting / not running??

guessing you may have harden valve seals or gunk built up by the valve stems.

Nice thing about this generation is hydraulic valve lifters - no valve adjustment needed.
Never should have to remove valve cover if engine is maintained properly.

I suggest running some clean oil of a couple hundred miles couple oil changes might clean up the engine.

Put some miles on it and enjoy it is a Honda!!

Valve job steps:

Step 1:
remove engine from bike put it on your work bench

Step 2:
youtube you some videos

Step 3:
put ad on Craigslist to sell project bike

Hi, the bike has been running and starts every time. I did an oil change and it was still leaky but I don’t think I’m gonna fix it. Just going to fix up the exhaust and have it spew out the actually exhaust end not where it connects
