New to the bike world. Carb cleaning is a giant pain in the ass, especially for someone who's never before touched a carb. I am thinking about getting a set of Murray's Carbs. Any opinions? Should I or shouldn't I? I pretty much have my mind made up already, figured i'd just throw this up here to see what people have to say about them. Thanks.

If you haven't bought the Murray Carb set yet, I have a set that I ran for about two weeks on my 81 CB750C before my timing chain blew. Basically brand new set up. I am willing to sell the set up if you want it. The two weeks I ran the set up I absolutely loved it. Great throttle response, way better than the stock set up.

If you still have them I might be interested. What's your asking price?

Did you install the Murray's? I'd be interested in reading your opinion. I've mulling over getting a set for my CB900F.

Yeah so, I bought a 1980 CB750c, didn't run at all. Bought the Murray's carbs, the engine had 30 psi. The carbs were great. I swapped the engine, and then got that one running. It blew up and thru a piston rod thru the front of the engine. So really no opinions because I didn't ride the fucking piece of shit.

Ah damn, I'm sorry that happened to ya!

You planning on selling them?

So I got the Murray's carb set up. It was Plug and Play, just as they said. Fo me it made a big difference. Really woke the bike up. I did electronic ignition at the same time. I'm please with the performance so far. Dependable, as opposed to the 42 year old stuff I replaced. One word of caution... Only buy from Murray! There are some others who represent him that I found was not a good experience. Go direct and you will be pleased. It's a bit pricey, but for me it was worth it.

Damn, I just rebuilt mine. But have a feeling that I am going to want to go a different direction.

I rebuilt my stock carbs two months ago and put pod filters on. Plugs were white when I checked them as it was running too lean. Since then I've gone back to the airbox that made it run better and now I've re-jetted the carbs to 110 main jets (was 102 stock size) and pilot screws from 1.5 turns to 1.75 turns.

It now runs way better then it did with the 102's. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I've been reading that pods don't work well with these carbs. That airbox is just UGLY.

This is my first ever rebuild on a bike, so this is all new to me.

If you still have them for sale I’d love to buy them
