Ah, I finally kick the cb750supply habit, and they dangle this carrot in front of me. Pick me, pick me!

Its not hard. It is intimidating though. Spray carb cleaner in the air intake. Soak, run, soak.

    Electrical issue

Seafoam and gas is a good start, and I'm no mechanic, but I just brought a 40 y/o Honda back to life by spraying carb cleaner in the air intake and closing the choke plates. Let it soak, run, repeat. Nothing is better than an actual carb clean, but it "works". Good luck, on the walls, and the bike.

I can't even really location mine. I think its coming from in between cylinder one and two, there's a small aluminum pipe(?) That goes up to the cams. I'm assuming it transports oil

Looks good so far! If you need advice with the carbs let me know. I was so afraid to do mine at first, but I'm glad I did. I also have a 79 cb750,. So we should have the same carbs.

e or b work fine for jet cleaning. Its really only helpful if you already have the guitar strings lol

    New guy old bike!

Whew! I'd ditch those bars! Awesome start, and cool to have an heirloom like that. My Dad sold his KZ1000 the day before I turned 16. If you have any specific questions ask away! I don't know how much you "know" about bike maintenance, but even assuming this bike runs great you'll have a nice...

I would not expect to hear many complaints about Japanese oil leaks. I'm working on a 72 cb350 that's motor is tip top despite sitting in bad conditions. I don't think I'd expect oil leaks to be a "thing" for any Honda, especially not when compared to HD bikes. I'm a special case lol

I'm not going to say they all do, I've got a DOHC that gets better gas milage than oil milage lol haven't been able to isolate it either. Regardless, still a Metric lover. All of my left shoes are oil soaked though lok

Nice buy! You're lucky about the drip pan scenario though!

    Only 2nd cylinder firing

Good! Just had the same thing in a 72 cb350. Was all worried it'd be an ignition system problem, but it was $6 worth of spark plugs. Old ones looked fine, but didn't work. Congrats! Enjoy the ride

I'm nowhere near confident enough in my skills to take a project like this on. Excited to see what you do!

    Only 2nd cylinder firing

No need to apologize! I've only had a bike for a few months, and I was posting this exact question in February. If the plugs are wet I'm going to agree with you and say that the fuel is getting into the cylinders. Which means you probably have bad plugs, or a bad ignition coil. Plugs are a cheap...
