    Adjust Steering Nut

    that isn't an alloy ring it's a a hard steel ring, you won't get it off without making a mess, so just clean things up and re- grease , taper rollers are just a fashion those balls will be fine for what you need. .

    mine had a badly cracked coil and melted cdi's and was bogging out so i replaced them , nothing changed, the problem stayed the same, found out the main jets were far too big than the ones it came out of the factory with and that was the problem.

    Chudman1 glad you're back, i'm sorry i can't stop laughing but i bet you're ready for a break down. it starts and ticks over on full throttle ,? what's going on there then , are you sure they are opening up fully if so it should be hitting 1 zillion revs

    Araldite on a nice cleaned up area on the inside. if it's as good as it used to be it will stop the leak.

    Jacob2 leaving that cover off is exactly what i had to do when i put 102 main jets in the carbs because every book i had said that was the size, the only problem being my 750FZ was a Japanese market bike fitted with 75's from the factory and matched the air intake size at the back of the air...

    WTB factory airbox and boots

    there are some boots on ebay from china for about 20 aus$ for each one and free postage, don't know what they will be like though. i had loads of trouble getting both sets for my 1979 but luckily at great expense i got some from japan but that was 4 years ago

    no mention of mine, as i say it was a jap domestic market bike imported to UK and try as i do can never find info on it except many parts on the bike are the same as the european cb900f. i have been told they based the jap market 1979 cb 750FZ which is mine on the european 900f the handle bars...
