Thanks AMC for the advice very much appreciated. I think I will look for a good brand of chain and purchase the staking tool. The bottom end of the engine has no leaks, noises, and great oil pressure that's why I do not want to disassemble it. Again thanks

Thanks D.D. for ringing in, The chain is original that came with the bike the miles are accurate, Any alternative to not disassembling the bottom end such as a linked chain sold by CB750 supply?

My mistake I removed the breather hose and have it hanging on the side of the bike there is a minimum amount of engine air discharging from it but it is nothing like removing a tappet cover.

Hi everyone long time since I was on here, Anyway I have a lot of air coming from the tappet cover when running at idle I thought this pressure was released out the breather hose nothing comes from it if it is it is unnoticeable any help much appreciated. Thanks

I looked at Mine which is a 1971 titled as a 1972 and the two on it has a section of rubber hoses connected to those and tucked on top of the air cleaner box. Perhaps for breathers or vents.

I have had luck sometimes with a hand impact driver as long as there is something left of the screw head.

Are You sure valves are not to tight? Not to familiar with DOHC,s but seen instances with other engines.
