    Thanks for the reply! Given the fact that the cylinder sleeves have no damage leads me to believe I somehow damaged it. But I have barely touched it. I'm not exactly sure how or when this happened tbh.

    Hello everyone, I'm in the process of rebuilding the engine and I found that one of my pistons has a little scratch/edge on it. I can clearly feel it with my fingers and it pokes out a bit. I'm wondering if I need a new piston entirely. Weird thing is the cylinder/sleeve isn't damaged at all...

    Does it matter the material of the wire wheel at all? If not this should be pretty easy.

    A wire wheel isn't too abrasive for valves? I hear brass is good to use on valves ( as BB74 said above ) but I can't seem to find anything that is brass and not just brass coated steel ( for the bench grinder ). Any suggestions? Edit: something like this is what I can find...
