Ultra dumb question about lowering springs/ shocks

you can lower the front by setting fork higher in the triple clamps. The springs control the way the suspension works. If you want to lower the front the forks will be above the triple clamp up 1 inch maybe more. to lower the rear you would get shorter shocks. If I understand correctly you...

Ultra dumb question about lowering springs/ shocks

Did you compare the new springs to the old ones?? Install a shorter spacer if you are trying to lower the front. 13 inch on the rear shocks is the stock height I believe. Good rule is to lower the front and rear the same amount to keep the stock geometry. But always a but, Choppers with...

I had a condenser that was bad on a car caused engine backfire and missing issue. See you noted parts are new does not mean they are good. Never assume.

Quick question to all the experienced mechanics on here please..?

Electric problems are always interesting. Bench testing a coil with a Ohm meter for resistance is a static test - in real world use the coil is alive with electricity. Old coils can have cracks in the casing casing shorts to ground / frame. Running or testing in Dark sometimes tells all you...

    Replace fork fluid 95 Nighthawk.

Yes drain fluid and refill from the top. Do not remove both fork caps at the same time as front end will drop. Or you can support front end from ceiling joist. I have a 4 inch pvc spacer in my 92 nighthawk forks stiffens up the front forks. 350 to 400cc of fork oil or measure what you drain...

    Starter motors have continuity?

Ok I don’t believe you have 3 bad starter motors. I believe user error. Positive must be isolated from ground terminal you are doing a dead short. Sounds like a user problem, please step back and rethink.

    Tank liner suggestions?

Good advice. Take tank off. Be careful with cleaning solution. I use some 6 inch small loop chains from ACE hardware drop in the tank and rotate/ shake tank to knock any rust free. You should have an inline clear fuel filter to see if any rust is getting out of the tank. Plus the fuel...

    Digital Speedometer Speed Sensor Conversion

This is for a speedo not a tach. looks like the unit supplied a magnetic sensor you would mount on the wheel and a magnetic pickup. try that first.
