I'm in a similar boat. Mine is not in boxes and runs.....just pretty rough. I am starting with the engine. The way I see it there is no point in moving onto anything else if I can't drive it. I started with complete rebuild and calibration of the carbs and next is to replace the piston rings.

Thank you. This would explain why it's been driving me crazy trying to find the answer to my question. Still thinking an oil cooler would be a good idea to keep it cool in traffic.
