Hi & thanks for the contact, the picture of your bike looks nice.
Yes my bike is a Jap import too, I have the bike over a year & not touched it yet, It is as the picture shows. The previous owner is a very good friend of mine so I know it is a good bike. Hopefully I will start the rebuild sometime this year.

don't make the same mistake as i did, the books i bought all said 102 main jets and mine had 75's. i put 102's in and it wouldn't rev over 5000rpm it had melted cdi's and a cracked coil so i thought it was electrical. but after trial and error i found the bike took off when the air filter cover was removed. it has a smaller air intake tube at the back of the air box , all to do with emissions in japan, and NO i am not taking those carbs off to fit the 75's i left the rectangular cover off so it can pull more air in around the side panel, goes like a rocket now. is all the writing on yours in japanese? and the frame number stamped into the head stock?

2002 CB750 Nighthawk with 4 into 1 Vance and Hines full exhaust... sounds awesome.

Found this 1991 Nighthawk buried in the bushes a year ago covered in IVY blackberries barely recognizable
It had been next to a car that caught on fire
Still need a replacement right side cover
Got it on the road just a few days ago with just over 100 miles now
Loving the new dual sport tires
Glad I chose them
I’m riding it everyday

tez4b4 i think yours is a european model with a riveted plate on it, mines just stamped into the headstock and brake reservoir writing all in japanese also the chain adjusting stickers etc in jap.

I've been building my custom for almost a year. & half. I have torn it down started as a box of bolts, covers, casings & gears. Got a frame. And well. It seems to be one issue after another. Minor stuff. But again driving me crazy. I am a newbie at the whole build a bike. But turning wrench. I am not. Anyway... I love the look of how raw the motor is. Unlike all the new chopper BS. I've got it pretty complete. Was hoping to get some pointers. Possibly an over all Critique.( I can take it.!) Don't want to bring it to a small vintage show. Then hear laughs. Don't think I did to bad for my first.

This was my Dad's bike. Lots of good memories as a kid. Keeping it stock and working on getting it back on the road. 1979 CB 750 Limited Edition.

I love the look of the sohc engine as well. Have fun with that jockey shift! If you have any sohc motor specific questions feel free to hit me up.

Current have 7 CB750s. 1970 1971 1975 1976 x3 and an anniversary edition 1979. Two have been completed and very drivable and 3 are in the midst of restoration and 2 are just for parts.
Here is pic of the 1971 find in storage bin with less than 6k miles and my recently painted 1976 and the 1979 LE
