'83 Honda CB750SC nighthawk love the bike. Dad died. I want to run it. Pretty clean. needs usual tires, battery, brakes. ALSO, it has no 5th gear.. It runs fine through 4th. it just won't catch into 5th. Doesn't sound good. However, if you are just banging around and don't need the highway gear, you wouldn't know.
Swap it out or get it fixed? thanks in advance for answering..

If you want to restore the bike for sentimental reasons, it might be worth splitting the cases if you have the capabilities and time.

Thanks, your input helps. Yes, it's sentimental, but I'm a CB750 guy so it's also the bike I can just bang around town on and love.

I need a motorcycle 'sherpa' right now. Some guru to 'show me the light'.

I'm 56. I don't have a bike right now (unusual). Dad died. There is my old Honda 750 and his 2001 Kaw Concours with like 12k miles.
I'd keep the Kaw, but realistically, I'm not gonna be jamming out of town doing sport bike stuff. So, I'd like to sell the Kaw.
If I end up with $1000 I can buy tires, breaks, titled for the Honda. But, it still won't have high gear. That's the rub.

Id have to pay someone to any 'real' work. certainly need carbs done I'm sure.
