    engine difference

    whahts the differnece between the 69 engine 71 and 74 engine i noticed that jet kits for them are different for them for different years is it because earliwer models ran less restrictive exhaust ?

    The bikes did get jetted leaner as the years went on. The 69 made the most power because of several things but less restrictive exhaust is one of the reasons for the richer jetting. You need to jet for what modifications you have not necessarily what a jet kit says you need. So many things affect the jetting.
