Front end looks good. I am not a big fan overly raked front ends. Yours looks good. I used a later 79 DOHC front end, they are 1" longer than the older 750's and they have a better front brake setup.
@dirtdigger: I had to go with the Harley front end since the neck on my frame is made for a 1" Harley front end. I should have gotten a 39mm instead of my 35mm due to lack of parts for this one, but what the heck. Who said it should be easy?
Cleaned up my carbs. Set the float levels at 14,5 mm, changed out the float needles, o-rings and gaskets. Put it all together as it were and I'm hoping for the best..
Well, while it takes forever to get sh*t shipped over the atlantic I took care of some caliper rebuilding and polishing. My front calipers where seized so I had to tear 'em apart to replace the seals and dust boots. And of course to see if the were usable.
Getting the pistons out without the M/C and lever attached were tricky. I hooked it all up to my compressor and hit it with like 7 bar. Nothing happened. I tapped gently on the side of the piston and BAM! I shot that sucker up in the ceiling.
Nothing left to do but to go and change my pants and do it all over again.
And the polishing turned out ok. Now I don't want chrome like show finish on my bike so I let it be a bit rough in some places. Just going to paint the dull "lower circles" on the calipers black.
