engine/frame numbers

i have a 1978 Cb750, should the frame number and the engine number be matching numbers (same number)
i am trying to sell this bike and someone asked the question.
the engine number is on the title and the frame number is on the title . does that mean that the engine has been changed or did it come from the factory like that?

Engine and frame numbers don't match on Hondas. And that is correct, it's the number on the frame that should be on the title.
