Primary Chain tensioner and oil feed pipe

Honda CB750K 1980. Dissasembling the engine some small ball and washer drop from somewhere. I has not been able to find in any manual where they came from ( service manual / Haynes / Cymer). I need some help.

Make sure the fine threaded end of valve cut off in lower left of pic is all there. There is a valve inside it.

Look at the oil supply port that comes up to the primary shaft SEAL, the upper case has something pressed into it that is either a poppet valve of some type or a restriction that needs to be there.

That washer obviously goes with the BB and part of some kind of valve to something, the engines have them in several places and not all are separate parts supplied without buying the bigger part. There should be a spring to go with the other parts somewhere. Smaller than what you have picced there.

The ball and the washer are located in the primary chain tensioner base where it joint with the oil line coming from the fluid valve (for reference page 12-4 of Honda CB750K manual). They are press there with a hammer punch over the washer the get stick. So we put the ball-the washer-the spring-the plunger.

It acts as valve that close to keep the oil circuit feed when the engine is off. It is strange that falls but it can happens.

No, it's a pressure setting device. The main oil pressure is set too high for some things, those devices lower it to the proper amounts in different places as needed. Too much pressure to primary tensioner wears the tensioner blade out too fast.
