So im doing as much research as i can before i buy my bike.
I see f models pop up around here for 300-400 more than the standard k. Is it worth that extra in the beginning?
Im going to put an after market ignition on it, new pipes, carbs(eventually), new shocks, new prog wound springs up front, boxed swing arm ect. Since im going down this avenue is it as important that i get the f?

IMO no. Yes the f has bigger valves but you can do the same to k head. K parts are also more plentiful. I wouldn't pay extra just to get an f unless you are specifically looking for one.

That's kind of weird as usually the K models go for more money - especially the earlier ones. I picked up a '77 F last year just because it was easier to make it a cafe-looking ride. But I agree with DD, it's more of a personal preference.
