hi everyone,

my name is mark and I live in Canada, Quebec ( yeah the french part of canada)
really glad I found this forum, I had a suzuki hayabusa for 5 yeah and I just sold it, I was looking for a smoother ride, Since I got my driver liscence and always wanted do have my own cafe racer, so yeah I found this good deal and I hope I will find all my anwser with this forum.

its a big challenge for me, I learn fast, lot of experience with car but not that much wit bike, its gonna be my first build, the bike that I just bough is in really good shape 39 000km so will not the the motor for now.



thing on my list:

complet front end gsxr k6
k&n filter
4-1 pipe
switch the gaz tank ( benelli or cb550)
change the swing arm,tire brake ( still need to look but I think the cbr f3 fit)
rear suspension (not shure et about the height)
work on that rear frame end

I dont want to have the flat look for the rear aand mid frame, I want something more agressif,

this my winter list so far, any advice or tips will be appreciated

Hope it all goes together nicely! Lots of work ahead of you. Have you checked the compression on the motor or fired it up yet?

hi everyone,

you sold a Busa for a pos CB750? lol.... you are going to be disappointed in the loss of power..... but i too just bought an 81 CB750 and JUST got it running for a short burst after it sat for over a decade. it only has 4007 miles on it though so i'm sure it's a good bike. i'm going to bob it out too.

It’s not always about the power. He wanted a specific look. Busas are trash. Fast but trash if you put any real power on it.
 


hey, yeah I work a lot on my bike this winter, I can post what I have so far,


not familiar how to make a big thread with picture and stuff but will do my best,

my build is on pause right now, currently deploy, come back home 24 may so, will try to finish it in june


will post thr picture in the next few days
 
so far I almost have all my parts,

I need to order a new regulator, battery antigravity 8cell and pods. I have all the other parts.

next step will be to work on the body,

I dont know how to weld so my friend will help me on that,

we need to:
- cut the rear and weld the hoop
- put a tray for all the electronic
- fit the gaz tank ( tank is a cb750 sohc)
-weld a bracket for my headlight and steering damper.
-bracket for the exhaust
-bracket forthe gsxr pegs


after all that done I will work on the harness to make it clean

I have to put it on dyno and jets it, I heard a lot of thing about removing the air box oem honda and how hard is to tune with pods. I might do the conversion of the gsxr carb will see


and final step powder coat :)
 
so this was easy to post picture finaly, picture are not in order

the bike looks like the last 2 pictures at the moment, lots of stuff still to do, but I hope I will be able to ride it this summer

almost done with my project, I worked all winter on this and really love the result, so much work, research, modification , im not too familiar how to update on the forum but will try my best. Im not gonna throw all the picture but this is all the good one of the evolution,

thing left :

- custom seat (gonna be ready in few week)
- new tire
-painting
-probably a tune up and jet haha


things done:

- rear cbr wheel fitting
-custom bracket for rear brake
- under seat tray weld
- custom hoop.
-custom seat pan
-battery box
-forks conversion
- fitting of the cbr 750 1978 gas tank
- redone all the wiring
-relocation of fuse box and ignition
- stem replacement (cognitio)
-choke relocation
-custom bracker for the head light ( wanted to keep the steering damper)
- shorten the exhaust
-rearset fitment
- custom fender bracket
- offset sprocket
- seal the tank ( POR 15)
-


im really glad that I changed my mind for the seat, at the beginning I bought the dime city seat , it was too complicated to fit it and was not shure about the result, I sold it on fb market ans only lost 100$ not bad, really like the result on the metal one

haha I know, dont really care now for the power I had my trip was lucky no speed ticket and still alive haha, now I just want something smooth, but here in quebec plate are crazy enpensive, aroud 1700$ for a sport bike and aound 600$ for insurance, and the season is 5 month. The cb750 will be cheaper on plates
 
Great stuff, mate! Mind helping a fellow rider out and give a short write-up on the cbr rear wheel fitment process? I would really appreciate it :)))))))

Also, when tuning the carbs, i really recommend the "Gunson colortune". Helped me a lot.

What size rear tire and where did you find a offset sprocket for dohc 750
