Voltage too high?

Been having charging issues lately with my '81 750C. Replaced pretty much everything (stator coils, Reg/rectifier, rotor, brushes). I've been riding lately with my voltmeter strapped to my handlebars wired directly across the battery terminals (as a diagnostic tool, and to try to ensure I don't get stranded again).
The new reg/rectifier packaging says the setpoint is 14.5-14.8 VDC, but at cruising RPMs (4-5000) it can go as high as 15.25.
Could this be indicative of a faulty R/R, or a rotor about to fail (again, for the 4th time), or is it perfectly normal?
What do other people meter at similar rev ranges?
