Just sharing....

Awhile back I read a comment about fixing cracked side covers with JB Weld.

Well, it works great. I actually used some industrial lock weld but I think they are all about the same, just different brand names. 2 part compounds that are meant to get hard enough to drill and tap.

Step one, you sand the inside of the cover until it's pure plastic where your planning your patch.

Step two (for me), I put some masking tape on the outside to hold the cracks closed while the patch dried.

Step three, you clean the area with a fast evaporating solvent, like brake clean to remove any oils.

Step four, you mix your product and apply a generous layer of it over the crack inside the cover. I'm talking 2" wide and 3/16" thick.

Step five, Let it dry until fully cured. (the little fine print on your product should tell you how long this is)

This worked great for mine and it was broke up pretty badly. It's solid now.

PS This isn't for broken off pins, just cracks in the surface.
