1978 CB750K stock carb choke linkage / Pod interference

The title says it all mostly. Oval K&N pods, the choke cable linkage hits the front face of the pod filter when the choke is pulled on.
Anybody run into this before, and what solution did you come up with?

Likely the wrong pods there. If not much needed then a dremel with a rock in it and grind rubber down. I had to to clear side covers on DOHC, the same filters just barely snagged and .060" of work did it. Only the outer two needed it.

Custom parts are so much cheaper when you make them to suit yourself.

I dumped the airbox on a CB550F when I couldn't find airbox rubber at a decent price and used UNI filters with no rubber only foam. Had to carefully measure the spring inside and cut to 3 inches from 4 and the outside foam the same to match spring. Installed it looks gangbusters, like a $150 custom set, and I actually patched the front and top holes in airbox cleanly and dumped the filter element to make a snazzy parts/tools box too.
