New forums are always fun to show off stuff that is currently in the garage as well as stuff that used to be there.

Bought this as my first major project in the hopes of building a killer cafe.
Guy I got it from said I was under estimating the work and to just make it run and enjoy it....what did he know....lol

Lots of buillit. Scored the lesters on a cheap parts bike. twin piston calipers.

Bought this in the attempt to have a simple sohc4 for a summer ride.
Seller didnt tell me the picture was 5 years old....

It was rusted and beat up from years of getting kicked around a barn.
Just did a simple cafe, used it and sold it

That last bike is cool as is! I'd ride it just like that... well maybe fit the seat up a little bit :)

That picture was taken the day I got it. It was parked on the sidewalk in brooklyn

Superfun!

This was my prior, 2008 Husqvarna SMR510 supermoto. Awesome toy(fuel range of 60-80km), but WILL get you arrested at some point for Hooliganism(being an Asshole!), Had to sell it after 1 season, not nearly responsible enough to own it.

I'm still relatively new to motorcycles. Before 2005, I always had a wife or mother who said 'No Motorcycles!" In 2005 I was divorced and looking for a new hobby. I picked up this bike to restore.
1965 Yamaha YDS3.
1994912478_8de353bf2d_zpsc2cd9e41.jpg

I soon found myself way over my head and would have to put more into it than what it would be worth. I ended up parting it out and doubling my money. Wanting something cheap and big enough to ride on the freeway, a co-worker told me of his brother's bike that was under a tarp in his dad's yard. A 1980 Yamaha xs650 Special. I picked it up for $450.
After fixing it up, it looked like this.
DSCF0220.jpg

I had no idea what I had. I soon found out what a following the bike had and got totally hooked on vintage bikes.
Seeing all the bobbers people were building with xs650s I built this bike. 1979 xs650 Special
2013-01-26_14-00-33_676_zpsd427d47d.jpg

Picked up this one for parts. 1977 xs650
a382_1.jpg

Then bought and restored this one. 1978 xs650
2011-08-21_18-39-12_457.jpg

Wanting to build a chopper I bought this one. 1972 xs650
Image045.jpg

It's still in pieces.
Then I met my wife, she loved riding with me. So she got her endorsement and bought this one.
1982 cb650
0520011902.jpg

We sold it, along with my 1980 so we could buy a house together.
Now I'm restoring a 1975 cb750 for her.

Do you still have the 1981 yamaha maxim xj 550 or know where to find?

Got this CL360 in terrible condition. Have it to this point now.
Needs wiring done, seat and rear cowl completed, and then I have to tear it apart again to paint the frame.
The tank is from a CB350, had to move the coils so it would fit, but I really like these tanks.
Engine was removed, cleaned, top end rebuilt. Electrics are moved under the seat.
Triple tree was polished, gauge re-done.
Wheels were torn down to re-plate the spokes, powder coat the rims, and polish the hubs.
Still working on a final seat and rear cowl, not sure if the one I made will be used, may make another.
Fired up the engine just to make sure I wasn't wasting my time.

another few months of work and maybe she will see the asphalt.
thanks for looking.
