Greeting gents I'm Dano aka Shop Moses. I work after hours at a custom motorcycle shop in Idaho Bonneville Customs. We put together some really fun and custom bikes, here is a 1980 we built a year ago.

But this post is about my bike so here it goes.
Picked up this 1980 CB750k running and with a title for $400 basically a unicorn.

Working after hours at a motorcycle shop has its perks we are still in the process of fabricating the tank and frame but I'll show you what we have done so far bike will be finished in June for a show in Oregon.
Enjoy ask any questions.

Tank and seat were both bent and shaped by hand.

Playing around with head light cowl ideas dunno if I like it or not, would roll it out of this steel with a bead roller and offset a projector or led light not sure it I'll do something like this or retro fit something in the oem housing.

Hey bruh....looks really nice....I bet I could learn a bunch from this thread. What kind of machinery do you need to fab your own tank and seat hump?

That's the best part: welder, acy/ox torch, speedy cut grinder, and steel scrap.

We started with heating up 3/4 round bar using a round bar

Then using 1/4in bar built a internal frame for the cowl used paper to get a shap and cut that out of 10ga steel sheet and bent and shaped my hand.

The tank we drew a shape we liked and cut it out then used paper to make a template for the 10ga steel.

That what ya looking for? If not let me know I can talk about the bike all day.

And thanks I'm really excited about it.

As it currently sits we are driving back from the Texas hand built motorcycle show so it's been a week since I've worked on it.

Ahh...I see better now...It's a modified tank with custom side pieces made from hand to give that "café" look...

I thought you fabricated the whole tank...Im sure you could if you really wanted to lol...

Thanks a bunch for the clarification.

I am not sure how much activity this website gets but I could really use some help with my build.

I have an 1982 Nighthawk that I am trying to get some help with. When it comes to replacement tanks....How do I know which will fit my frame and which to stay away from?? I have found a bunch on craigslist and am wondering if they are compatible or not...

Got the center hole drilled for my pizza pan covers, need to machine out some spacers to put through the spokes but love how they look so far.
