New cb750c

Hey all new to forum. Just picked up a 1980 cb750 other day for $500. Got her running pretty quickly and plan to get it running tip top and tear down for a build. Sure I will need advice and ideas! I'll post pics once I figure out how!

Run the valves, nobody EVER does and a major problem. Use .005" as a go to number rather than the book .003", the engine runs much longer with no issues doing it.

Started to just run and running well are two vastly different things.

AMC49 I have been researching how to adjust the valve shims if need be. Do you recommend measuring the clearances then purchasing the shims as needed or just buy a kit? In that case are you aware of one I should buy? I know I need the tool.

Better to measure first.
Only buy what you need or you'll be stuck with shims you cant use.
Ebay sellers usually have some.
Be sure to measure them with a micrometer as they dimensions printed aren't always correct.
