Hello to all,
Im having a little issue in a 1982 Honda CB750 nighthawk, the bike run great and all of the sudden when i press the clutch and shift to first gear the bike jumps and shuts off as if the clutch is not disengage, I had check everything, cables, basket, adjusted the clutch according to the specs, at the handle and at the motors side, i even had replaced the clutch plates, new oil, springs are with in the specs.
at this point Im lost i had done everything that i believe should fix the problem.

All comments thoughts and advises will be well appreciated... :cussing::banghead::banghead::doh:

THREE points to adjust clutch at, clutch cover, the clutch cover lever, and the clutch lever at bars. Past that misassembled parts. Hot rod clutch can stick if using one of those. Did you put the riveted plate back in? A really worn outer basket will hang up the discs too.

I got all the parts in nothing missing, after re-assembling the clutch i started adjusting at the clutch cover, then the clutch lever, and last at the bars, there is some wear in the basket but not more than 1/3 of a mm, could these be a problem in the gearshift linkage?
it shifts trough all the gears when the bike is off.

This is driving me crazy, the bike run beautifully and all the sudden stops... :wtf:
