oilseal replacement on gearbox sprocet

Not happening, the seal has a flange on it. Case splitting time. Seal is also two piece, one inserts inside the other. You'll see when you get it apart.

Then I have to say it may not last long term. You're messing with trans shaft oiling there my friend. Trans damage coming up if the two seals aren't tight to each other. The outer fits to the inner to keep inner pressed against the output bearing side to provide a closed oil chamber to lube the balls and any looseness then allows the balls not nearly the lube as it leaks off then. Any looseness as well drops the oil pressure to the entire output shaft and its' gears/bushings. The outer seal can also move to fall out if the flange is gone. The flange is the seal retainer and pocket holder/stabilizer there.

Not wise at all.
