to wrap or not to wrap

I'm running a 76 SS. I've seen ppl wrap their headers/exhaust. I've read up on it's benefits. It is necessary? Worth the time to do it?

Nobody ever mentions that they hold water and water and heat play hell with exhaust pipe life. A looks only thing, it really impacts very little.

I like to wrap my exhaust #1 cause it looks so damn cool and #2 cause it keeps things cool.the pipes don't radiate heat as badly when I'm sitting in traffic or warm up my boot quite as much as an unwrapped pipe.also if you happen to need to work near a hot exhaust its a lot more forgiving if u touch one by accident
