I may have a bad coil (or just caps), and a guy at a local shop told me to try plugging plugs 1/4 into 2/3 and vise versa to check. Will coils 1/4 work on 2/3 if I switch them for a test? Just curious

If it is a bad coil by switching the two the problem will move to the opposite two. Also check the points for the problem. Sorry CP if You switch just the plug wires it will just backfire You have to switch the yellow and blue wires at the coils or points along with swapping the plug wires.
