Aluminum forged rods?

Aluminum rods are not a good idea for a street motor. Aluminum fatigues and work hardens much faster than steel and gives no advanced warning before they break. Under running conditions the aluminum rod will stretch much more than steel and you need to leave extra clearance between the piston and head when building the motor because of this. Racers use them because they are a little lighter then steel rods but they also take the engine apart for inspection and replacement of parts. The only people that really need the aluminum rods are guys running nitro because it acts as a shock absorber from the explosion of nitro which helps extend the life of the crank. They consider aluminum rods to be an expendable item and replace them before they break. Street motor no good...racing, maybe if you inspect your internal engine parts often...nitro, its a must.

Stock rods shot peened and stronger bolts good for 836 size motors. Cycle X rods much stronger then stock and cheaper then Carrillos. Carrillos are top of the line, strongest rod for the 750.

These rods are cheap. Maybe some old MTC Rods or some old Golden Rods..maybe. Aluminum rods not worth the gamble...use a good steel rod and you will have a bullet proof bottom end. I have seen a couple of aluminum rods make some big holes out the front of the 750 case because of broken rods.
