Guys, I'm looking for a little help. My 74 CB 750 front brake always worked great. I went overseas for three years and get it back out of Dad's barn this spring and now the front brake is weak and it is leaking around the handle area. I took apart the caliper and such and it is in great shape. I believe the issue is the little spring valve thing that the lever pushes is not sealed anymore. In other words when I squeeze the handle it is leaking. Am I making any sense? Can you replace those things?

Keep in mind there is no oil leaking anywhere but the handle area and I have bled that brake well and it is still weak and spongy.

Thanks guys,

Jeff

Sounds like you need to rebuild your master cylinder. There's lots of rebuild kits out there and it's not too hard to do.
