Hello,
I haven't had a motorcycle in over 15 years and I am on the verge of buying a 1980 cb750 with the goal of turning it into a café/brat style bike. I had a couple questions I was hoping someone could respond to:
1. What should I look for with the bike when I check it out.
2. What's a good estimate of how much it will run me to customize it? Nothing extravagant (but nothing too cheap either). Just want something to bomb around town on and take on country roads. I know it will need new wheels, café handle bars, and flat seat (it sort of has that chopper style seat). I've never worked on a bike, so the more technical stuff I will have to have a shop work on. I know it's difficult to set a cost on something like this, but what would be a median range for customizing it?
Any ideas would be much appreciated!
